Uh-oh.... I've started using fancy words.  Look out!

What little I can gather from the nearly illegible notes makes this out to be some sort of school of magic that was evacuated after a recent experiment went wrong.  The PCs are hired to go in and retrieve various items.
 

For some unknown reason, I drew this map facing the wrong direction.  North is to the right.
